CONTRACT MANUFACTURING FOR FRAGRANCE BRANDS

From fragrance brief to finished branded product.

Private label and OEM manufacturing connect the scent, formulation, container and retail presentation. We help you define the product, review samples and establish the specifications for production.

01

Develop for your market

Select fragrance and packaging around your customer, product positioning and target cost.

02

Review samples before production

Approve the fragrance, liquid, components and artwork as the reference for your production order.

03

Compare the complete quotation

Review formulation, components, decoration, filling, packing and delivery terms together to understand the finished-product cost.

Cedar Aroma has provided OEM manufacturing since 2018. Our production base in China supports liquid production and finished-product orders, with components and packaging selected for each range.

PRIVATE LABEL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Five decisions that shape your fragrance range.

Develop the fragrance, formulation, container, branding and pack as one product, then approve the samples and specification for manufacture.

01

Choose the scent for your brand.

Share preferred fragrance notes, reference samples or the impression you want to create. We help you select and refine scents for your product, customer and target cost.

Select fragrance samples

Use fragrance families to focus the first selection, from fresh citrus and florals to woods, amber and gourmand notes.

Develop a custom scent

Describe your brand positioning and what appeals to you in any references. This gives fragrance development a specific creative and commercial brief.

Refine the selection

Compare samples by code and prioritise the changes you want, such as a brighter opening, softer woods or less sweetness.

Approve the fragrance

Record the selected sample and specification so production follows the version your team has approved.

02

Formulate for the intended product.

Perfume, home fragrance and car fragrance have different formulation requirements. Evaluate the selected scent in the liquid and packaging intended for sale.

Perfume bottle and packaging concepts

Perfumes

Review fragrance concentration, scent, appearance and spray performance in the proposed perfume sample.

Reed diffuser bottle and packaging concepts

Reed diffusers

Assess the liquid, bottle, closure and reeds together, including scent release in the assembled diffuser.

Room spray bottle and packaging concepts

Room sprays

Evaluate the formulation with the selected bottle and spray pump, checking the scent and spray experience.

Plan product evaluation

Include your target market, testing priorities and documentation requirements in the development brief so they can be addressed during sampling.

For private label car fragrances, specify the air freshener format, materials and scent release system with your enquiry.

03

Select the bottle and components.

Review the bottle, closure and dispensing components alongside your target cost and order quantity. The complete assembly needs to suit the liquid and product format.

Review component options

Compare suitable existing bottles and components before considering custom development. Specification and availability are reviewed for the proposed order.

Assess the assembly

Consider the perfume bottle, spray pump and cap together, or the corresponding closures, reeds and dispensing parts for home fragrance products.

Set the fill volume and style

Share the capacity, shape and finish you have in mind. Visual references help narrow the selection before artwork is developed.

Use your own packaging

If you have selected a bottle or packaging supplier, send specifications and samples for compatibility, filling and assembly review.

04

Develop the brand presentation.

Bring your logo, colours and design references. We review decoration and artwork for the selected bottle and carton, with methods and costs included in the quotation.

Labels and product information

Specify label size, placement and artwork for the container, including the product information required for your sales market.

Printing and finishes

Review decoration methods for the selected component and approve the finish, colours, artwork and production quantity.

A consistent collection

Use scent names, colours and packaging details to distinguish products while maintaining a recognisable identity across sizes and fragrances.

Artwork sign-off

Consolidate changes into one approved file for each product so decoration and packing follow the same reference.

05

Finalise the pack and manufacturing order.

Define the retail presentation, packing operations and shipping requirements. The quotation brings these details together with the approved product and production schedule.

Cartons, inserts and gift sets

Plan the carton, protective insert and any gift-set arrangement around the product, sales channel and target cost.

Filling, labelling and packing

Specify the filling, labelling, assembly and packing operations required for your finished products.

Production approval

Sign off the sample, product specification and artwork, then confirm quantities, pricing, lead time and delivery terms.

Repeat manufacturing orders

Retain the product code, specification and artwork for reorders. Highlight changes to quantity, presentation, destination or timing.

PRODUCTION SIGN-OFF

Your approved production reference

  • Approved product sample and specification
  • Confirmed components and artwork
  • Quantity per product and included operations
  • Lead time and delivery terms

These records define the first production order and provide a reference for repeat supply.

PRIVATE LABEL & OEM FAQ

Planning your fragrance manufacturing order.

What do you need to prepare a private label quote?

Send the product type, quantity per fragrance, sales market and packaging ideas. Scent preferences, target cost and a launch date help us prepare a more specific proposal. A complete design is not needed to begin.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Minimum quantities depend on the formulation, bottle, decoration and packaging. Share your planned quantities so we can identify suitable components and provide minimums with the quotation.

Can you help with a custom fragrance?

Yes. Share your product, preferred scent direction or references, and target cost. We outline the development and sampling work, then refine the fragrance using your feedback.

Can I use my own bottles or artwork?

Yes, subject to review. Send specifications, samples and artwork so we can assess compatibility with the liquid and the filling, decoration and packing requirements.

Can I buy just the fragrance oil or finished liquid?

Yes. Fragrance concentrates are supplied for your own formulation, while ready-to-fill liquids are supplied for your filling line. Tell us which operations you handle so we can recommend the appropriate supply format.
